Wellbeing Martial Arts is pleased to be affiliated with Circles of Willow Neurodiverse a physiotherpay service designed specifically to assist neurodiverse kids.

Karate is often considered a great way for neurodiverse children to gain confidence, moderate behaviours and get essential exercise. The structure and consistency of karate classes provides an environment where kids feel comfortable to have fun and try new things.

Sometimes though, larger groups are too overwhelming for some children and small group therapy is a valuable stepping stone, enabling the development of transferable skills.

Physiotherapy can make the transition into karate and other sports easier and more successful for your child.

Circles of Willow Neurodiverse is a parent/child physiotherapy group created in response to a growing need in our community.

There is plenty of evidence for exercise, mindfulness and connection in both ASD and ADHD children. Exercise not only paves the way to better health, but it also opens the way for social and community connections through sport etc. Mindfulness helps to decrease the reactivity bias helping with self-regulation. Social connection is vital to mental health. This applies to both neurodiverse children and their families.

Circles of Willow Neuodiverse groups are small, offering a low-stimulation environment and a quiet corner. We work on the basic weaknesses common to both groups, strength, coordination, balance, proprioception, vestibular and oculomotor re-education. Regular breaks, active parental involvement and joint mindfulness practice builds a skillset that is useful at home.

Please contact Circles of Willow if you would like to find out more about their program.
