Feb 2021

Welcome to 2021 at WBMA

COVIDSafeLogo2a.jpg

To say 2020 was a difficult year for everyone is an understatement however, we found that students adapted well to the online classes (still available online for our members via the website) or our live online lessons, we hope it helped in keeping up some normality. We were able to grade some students too! Amazing effort! To conduct face to face classes we have now also become a COVID SAFE martial arts school.

Pre-Paid Lessons

Due to potential COVID interruptions we have decided to transfer all our class payments to Pre-paid lessons.  Our hope is that if there are any further disruptions to face to face learning it can easily be transferred and also if any student is feeling unwell they do not feel compelled to come to class to get ‘value for money’ on term fees.  It also means that you are able to come to any class that suits your level at any time!!! New Classes for 2021

This year we will be holding new classes specifically designed to improve particular skills. Over the next couple of months we are holding a sparring seminar for Karate and a short stick seminar for Tai Chi. Classes run for 1 hour and will cost 1 pre-paid lesson. Click the link in the left column to register your spot.

New Name for our Karate School

Goju+Seishin+Round+badge+copy.png

At the end of 2020 our karate students may have noticed Sensei Geoff and Sempai Bree wearing a new logo on their karate Gi’s.

With time to spare during the COVID Lockdown we created a new name for our karate school, “Goju Seishin Karate Do”, this literally translates to Hard/Soft (Goju) Spirit (Seishin) Empty Hand (Karate) Way (Do).  We believe this name embraces our karate lineage of Goju Ryu, Goju Kensha and our goal for health and well-being of our students. Let Sensei Geoff know if you would like your logo updated.
